What is an aircraft market evaluation?Evaluations are useful for many owners, buyers, sellers as a method to obtain an estimate of the actual value of an aircraft. Perhaps the appraisal process is simply too expensive due to the location of the aircraft or other financial considerations. In these cases an evaluation may be the answer.
Unlike an appraisal a certified appraiser does not examine the aircraft and logs. This information is submitted to us by the interested party in the process. We can supply a worksheet to assist in evaluating the airplane. Once the worksheet data is obtained, either on-line, by fax, or by phone call, the data is keyed into the same database of information that is used to accomplish a certified appraisal. All items that are submitted are carefully entered and the program runs the numbers for the aircraft based on the information. A market evaluation report is then generated which will show the aircrafts value based upon the information. The obvious variable with an evaluation verses a certified appraisal is that the person submitting the data must determine the aircraft conditions rather than having a trained independent professional determining these factors. As a result a certified appraisal certificate can not be issued. Generally if the person submitting the information is careful and follows the normal guidelines for "grading" purposes an evaluation will be within a few percentage points (+/- 5%) of an actual appraisal. If the grading is in error or a logbook entry of damage history etc. is missed then the numbers can be greatly different. |
What does an evaluation cost?We offer aircraft evaluations for a flat rate of $125.00. ($250.00 for prop-jets or jets). This includes a copy of a blank worksheet which will be emailed, faxed, or mailed to you. Once the worksheet is completed you will return the completed form to us and the information will be entered. A final report will be generated a copy will be faxed or emailed, and a copy of the final report mailed to you. The process is generally accomplished within one day and the report available for your review. Should you decide to have the plane appraised the amount paid for the evaluation will be applied to the appraisal fee!
